Leading Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Programs in Cincinnati, Ohio

Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital offers comprehensive outpatient programming, including a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Adults age 18 and older can receive dual diagnosis outpatient treatment when they are struggling with a mental health concern and a substance use disorder at the same time.

Partial Hospitalization Program

At Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, we offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for individuals who can benefit from a more intensive level of care than an IOP provides but do not require 24-hour care.

In our PHP, adults participate in therapy sessions four hours a day, Monday-Friday. When not in therapy, they can return home or to a supportive living environment. The typical length of stay in our PHP is about six to eight weeks.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for individuals who can benefit from more intensive therapy than traditional outpatient services provide, with fewer hours of therapy than in our PHP.

Our IOP involves three hours of therapy sessions each day, Monday-Friday. Like with our PHP, adults can return home or to a supportive living center when not in treatment.

This level of care makes it easier for adults to receive the treatment they need while still going to work or school. Our IOP helps provide a smooth transition out of treatment and back to daily living.

Elements of Care

The goal of dual diagnosis outpatient treatment is to ensure that we treat both the mental health disorder and substance use disorder for complete wellness. Along with substance use disorders, common mental health conditions we treat include depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

In our PHP and IOP, adults participate in a combination of substance use disorder and mental health disorder treatment modalities. These include:

  • 12-Step programming
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
  • Motivational interviewing

Both our PHP and IOP offer therapy in the form of individual, group, and family sessions. We also provide basic medical care, as well as medication management if needed. Each adult’s care team works with them to customize their care plan with the services that will be most beneficial to them.

Detailed Discharge Planning

At Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, we understand that a person’s healing journey continues long after their time in our treatment program. Along with a personalized treatment plan, our team provides each adult with detailed aftercare planning to ensure long-term recovery. Discharge planning begins during the admissions process and continues to be updated throughout each patient’s time in treatment.

A personalized discharge plan may include the following:

  • Admission to another treatment program
  • Referrals to traditional outpatient services
  • Additional support groups
  • Relapse prevention resources

The goal of discharge planning is to ensure that adults have the support and resources they need for lasting recovery and wellness.

We accept most major insurances.

The team we have is phenomenal, with an extensive background from a myriad of mental health and substance use backgrounds.
